CRAFT SAKE WEEK 2025 at Roppongi Hills: A Grand Celebration of Japanese Artisanal Sake Culture
With over one million attendees to date, CRAFT SAKE WEEK—the acclaimed celebration of Japanese culinary culture—has returned in full splendor to Roppongi Hills Arena, spanning 12 captivating days from April 18 to 29.

In the lead-up to the event, the lineup of all 120 participating sake breweries was finalized. Handpicked from a pool of over 400 contenders, these breweries were selected through extensive tastings conducted by an elite panel of more than 100 judges, including former football legend and sake connoisseur Hidetoshi Nakata, seasoned sake sommeliers, culinary maestros, and world-class wine experts.
Each day of the event is dedicated to a unique sake theme, featuring only ten breweries daily. This approach ensures that every visit provides a fresh experience and offers visitors a curated path to discovering new favorites suited to their tastes.
Adding to the immersive nature of the event, sake brewers are on-site to pour and present their creations. This rare opportunity allows guests to savor exceptional sake while deepening their understanding of pairing, presentation, and the cultural nuances behind each pour. CRAFT SAKE WEEK isn’t merely a tasting—it’s an education and celebration rolled into one.
On the final day, the event crescendos into a true spectacle: a "dream team" of legendary sake brewers, including the iconic Juyondai from Takagi Shuzo, gathers together. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the pulse of the sake world—from its venerated masters to the new generation shaping its future.
Having graced not only Tokyo’s Roppongi but also cities like Fukuoka’s Hakata and Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, CRAFT SAKE WEEK has drawn sake lovers from across the country, surpassing one million visitors to date. Now in its seventh Roppongi edition, the event once again spans 12 days and features a stunning collection of 120 premier sake breweries—including 16 making their debut appearance.
Complementing the sake are 15 of Japan’s most coveted restaurants, including those that are nearly impossible to book under normal circumstances. These culinary heavyweights will offer exclusive, event-only dishes created by top-tier chefs—dishes designed specifically to harmonize with the rare and remarkable sakes available.
For the discerning palate and the culturally curious, CRAFT SAKE WEEK 2025 is not merely an event; it is the ultimate gateway into the heart and soul of Japan’s artisanal sake renaissance.

What is CRAFT SAKE WEEK?
CRAFT SAKE WEEK was founded in 2016 by former footballer and cultural ambassador Hidetoshi Nakata, stemming from his journey across Japan to explore its rich traditions—ranging from sake and tea to fine crafts. As he met countless artisans and producers, Nakata was profoundly struck by the depth, complexity, and boundless potential of sake. This experience ignited a passion to share the beauty of Japanese culture with a broader audience.
Thus, CRAFT SAKE WEEK was born—not merely as an event, but as a cultural movement. It shines a spotlight on the finest sake from across the nation while also embracing the broader tapestry of Japanese culinary heritage, including the nuanced world of Japanese tea. Through its carefully curated experiences, the event serves as a dynamic platform to rediscover and celebrate the artistry, flavor, and soul of Japan.
Japanese Tea Brand – HANAAHU TEA
Throughout the 12-day event, guests will have the opportunity to experience all four signature blends from HANAAHU TEA, each inspired by a distinct season of Japan: Kusawakaba (Spring), Aomomiji (Summer), Akizakura (Autumn), and Fuyutubaki (Winter).
Crafted in collaboration with Japan’s top tea masters and sommeliers, HANAAHU TEA is dedicated to pairing tea with food. Rather than pursuing a bold, singular umami punch like gyokuro, the brand focuses on achieving a balanced interplay of umami, bitterness, astringency, and acidity, designed to complement a meal and be enjoyed sip after sip.
With a meticulous selection of over 100 tea cultivars, careful control over harvest timing and fermentation, and masterful use of varying roasting techniques, each blend evokes the distinct colors, aromas, and flavors of the Japanese seasons. Whether paired with seafood or meat, HANAAHU TEA offers a refined, unprecedented dimension of tea that harmonizes seamlessly with the dining experience.
Sake. Tea. Cuisine. Three pillars of Japanese culture—yours to savor without restraint at Roppongi Hills Arena.
